I just discovered a resource for excellent quality free wood textures for 2D or 3D use. The resolution of the scans are very high - all around 2100×3300 pixels. They range from subtle, light colored grains to some dark knotty woods. It helps to speak german if you’re looking for a specific type of wood. Photoshop Tutorial: Dramatically Improve a Typical Vacation Photo

Using a free Photoshop brush, a few layer effects and a little masking, we end up with a layered file (dowloadable) that demonstrates how to use adjustable effects to turn up the drama and maintain complete control of the amount - either crank it up or pull it back. CD Cover Design Case Study

The name of this album is “View from Hear”, there’s a play on words so I tried to do the same visually- the client and I went through various drafts before deciding on this design. The genre of music is Christian Rock, the goal was to not hit people over the head with Christian symbolism so I approached it with a neutral design first and then sprinkled subtle spirituality through out- Vuala.
